Okay, first of all, DLMFNS is short for Dalian Maple Leaf Foreign Nationals School, which is my school.
Things are a bit weird and crazy around here, even though it is supposed to be a regular, "Canadian School in China".
First off, there's a new girl in our class named Ashi. It's probably a coincidence, because in Korean, there is a bad word called "Shiba". It's against the "rules" to speak languages other than English in the school, but nobody really cares so sometimes people say other languages. But even in Korean, "Shiba" is a really bad word, so instead of saying that, they say "Assshhhhi", which sometimes sounds like Ashi, so people keep teasing the new girl, Ashi, that her name is a bad word.
Another thing is, Korean kids like to speak "Konglish", which is just English with a Korean accent. It's kind of weird and stupid, because "yes" turns into "yeSUUUU", and "this" turns into "thiSUUUU".
Some of the new teachers here don't really get the "Konglish" thing, and they think it is just being silly, and CAN be stopped. But, since they are new, reality is the complete opposite of what they think. That's exactly the case in music class, when Mr. Underhay is the teacher. Two kids in my music class, Mark and Jeoung-Woo, have seriously got yelled at because they sing and speak Konglish all the time. The problem for them is, they can't speak normal English, since they are still Korean and bad at English. But Mr. Underhay doesn't understand this, and the two kids don't have good enough English to tell this to Mr. Underhay. The cycle goes on and on... but Mr. Underhay is kind of starting to understand, so it might get better with time. Who knows?
Then... there's the schoolbus. You might imagine that what I'm going to say now is that on the bus, everyone is crazy, but no, that is not the case. There's a teacher on the bus, which is like a robot monitering every move on the bus. If she spots something peculiar, then she would move to that area right away. But still, one teacher can't moniter everything, and she sits at the back, so she can't see what's happening at the front. I kind of sit in the middle of everything, so I can see what's happening in the front. And the front is always silly, what people saying things about pee and poo, and saying things about love and kissing (you know what I mean). It was the worst when one time, we temporarily changed a bus, and the new bus had a big picture of a woman wearing a bikini stuck on the side. And when I say big, I mean BIG! It triggered an explosion of silliness, which was uncontrollable. At least I wasn't involved in it!
For me, this weird school is just the unfortunate truth, but at least it gives me something to write about! :P
Now that you are done reading the important part of this blog entry, please post comments about the weird things that happen in your school (or anyplace else other than school). I reply!
