Woohoo! The beach rocks! Yes, you guessed it. Today I went to the beach! It was with mom's coworkers, because one of the important ones was leaving (Dustin). It was really fun, because there were 2 other kids there, and we played soccer together (with mom's coworkers too). We also had a huge BBQ there, with sausages, sweet corn, and stuff on sticks - that translates to a GREAT meal.
There were many people there (Dustin, Maggie, Jane, Lori...), and I don't even know all of their names! But they were all quite young, so they were really happy to play and joke around. Next time I might go to the beach with them again... they're really nice!
The beach I went to, the Golden Beach, isn't the best beach in Dalian, but it's OK. It's very close to our home, about 7-10 minutes by car (1-2 hours by foot). That's the good part about it. There's also many services there (like renting a BBQ) which makes it quite convenient.
The next time you go to the beach, I suggest you post a comment right here!

Karate Tournament
Today was a quite a cool day for me. I started out the day going to my usual classes (drawing and piano). After, I went to a karate competition.
Although I did not actually participate (I'm only a white belt), I did have quite a lot of time watching. Normally, I'm not much of a fan of violence, but this is a competition, so it was OK. However, there was one guy that I really hated - I don't know his name, but he was really bad. He almost kicked a few people to fainting point, and he got a lot of penalties. He might have had a lot of karate skill, but it didn't earn him many points in the end. He was in the final match, fighting against a really strong nice guy (the guy is one of the volunteer teachers sometimes), and it turned out that he had so many penalties that the took off one of his points. So he lost, just like he should have much earlier. Note that this was part of the adult's competition. I watched the children's competition too, and it was intense. A few kids cried...
HI-YAH!!!

Almost going to Canada!
It is now about 3 weeks into vacation! A lot of cool stuff has happened, like my auntie coming here from Tianjin and staying for a week. But yesterday... it was dreadful.
It was quite a regular day yesterday. I went to karate just as the rain started to get really bad. But when karate finished, it was really horrible... the sides of the roads were covered with water a foot deep! In some places, the road was completely covered with water that deep. We had to go through one of those roads, but thankfully, our Honda Odyssey did its job well (but slowly). I could see stalled buses sitting at the sides of the road because the water had seeped into their engine. No one could imagine the precipitation being this serious, until it already happened. Also, I've heard that people fell into manholes yesterday because the covers weren't on and the water covered the view of the hole. It's quite fascinating... and scary.
Another thing that happened the day before yesterday was a very annoying and stupid thing: the shift key fell off of my stupid laptop! Yeah, yeah, my laptop is not old and stupid... but it's getting to be too much for me. Now... WITH NO SHIFT KEY! You do realize that typing capitals and special characters is getting to be really difficult, right? Which is why typing this took a long time.
I really do hope you guys are having a great day! A day much better than mine!

Current News
Now, as everyone should know, Blogger is currently being blocked by the Chinese Government. I live in China, so this seriously affects me. Although I despise the Chinese Government and what they are doing right now, I can do nothing to stop them. Then, how did I log on today? Well, I used a smart piece of software called Tor. It uses "onion routing" to encrypt data. Enough of this talk, there are a few things I would like to discuss today.
It is now summer vacation! School ended on June 26th, 2009, so it has already been quite a while after it started. It's quite fun to sleep in and not go to school, but I have a LOAD of homework that I have to do everyday. I also have a tiring class EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK. But I will still think about the positives... I WILL BE GOING TO CANADA! YAY!
The other thing I have to say about is... Michael Jackson is DEAD! I should already know about this, but I will mention it anyways.
Have a good summer, people! HAGS!
