Sorry!

As you have probably noticed, I haven't been on this blog since last year. Sorry for that, but I have no choice. In case you haven't noticed yet, China is blocking all the big sites that people use, like YouTube, Facebook, and BLOGGER. I mean, WHAT THE F*CK (sorry)! They give people absolutely NO FREEDOM AT ALL. I'll tell you all about it now.

Back in 1998 (I think), the China Communist Party was fearing that the Guomindang was going to breed a powerful new network to overpower them. Crazy, right? That's why this project called the Great Golden Shield was started. The Guomindang didn't create such a network, but the project didn't end. Instead, it was used to block websites that the Chinese government thought were "unhealthy". The list of unhealthy sites once included Wikipedia, Google (WTF), MySpace, and others.

So what the you think about this? Personally, I think that it was a HORRIBLE decision to block websites. Although the idiots at the Chinese government may think that it is a good thing to cover up those websites, this actually gives China a terrible reputation. People will think that it blocks every good site in the world. It probably does. China should look at all the other, FREE countries. People are always happy in those places because they have FREEDOM. People NEED freedom. They need to have the ability to freely access and also pass around information. We have the right to do that. We have the right to teach, and also to learn. By blocking various important websites around the Internet, the flow of information is disrupted to some regions, and therefore we lose the right to contribute information at those websites.
